Modification of the stock bumper. Having decided what needs to be done (more or less), it is time to gather the parts needed for this project. |

Greddy lip  |
Test fitting the Greddy lip. The car is Chrome Silver and the lip is Silverstone. One of the first questions I had was .. should the lip be painted Chrome Silver or ... what would
it look like if the Silverstone was faded into the car color?

I got this used bumper off of eBay to work the 'magic'.

| Adhesive |
Duramix General Purpose Repair & Adhesive Material Flexible. Slower and more flexible repair material for repairs on non-TPO flexible plastics. Sets within 1 minute and
sands easily after 15 minutes. Will not peel back when sanded. Slower and more flexible counterpart to the fast working 4030.
Must be used with Duramix 4997 Dispenser*
The Duramix applicator sells for something like $65. Rats!

| Filler |
Poly-Flex is used as a filler on any part that has limited flexibility like bumper covers or metal parts where stress could cause some flex that could make rigid fillers fail.
It can't be used to actually patch a hole in a torn bumper but it could be used to finish leveling the hole after it is patched.

| Paint |
I got a can each of Silverstone (Paint Code WV2) and Chrome Silver (Paint Code KY0). I want to see if it is possible to paint the darn thing myself (or, at the very least,
I can experiment. Then of course .. there's where I got egged on my hood ....)

| Used Bumper |
| eTraxx (14:50 14 Mar 2007) : Note that I said I got the bumper at a wrecking yard. In the photo you can see a white patch where it had been repaired. I would suggest that if at all possible when doing something like this, that you acquire a bumper without any prior damage as I had to spend extra time getting the 'repair' .. repaired to be 'good nuff' |
